• Paris en deux

I'm Paris bound. Thus ends a year. An era perhaps... But I am oft wont to recall the following song, one of my favorites. And with one final adieu to the era and the States, I present it to you. Adieu.

muse2

The candle flickers towards its last,
Our time together's ended;
The evening spent so swiftly passed,
No richer way to spend it.
Before we head our separate ways,
I'd like in truthfulness to say:
You've made this day a special day,
With songs and kindness splendid.

Here's to song, here's to time;
Here's to both with friends of mine;
Here's to friends who raise their voices high.
Kings have riches widely lain,
Lords have land, but then again,
We have friends and song no wealth can buy.

We each a different road must go,
To mountains, sea and city;
The hour has come to say adieus,
And all the more's the pity.
But first unite in hand and heart,
And sing a chorus ere we part;
For every end leads to a start,
We need not break so sadly.

Here's to song, here's to time;
Here's to both with friends of mine;
Here's to friends who raise their voices high.
Kings have riches widely lain,
Lords have land, but then again,
We have friends and song no wealth can buy.

And till our paths in future cross,
May blessings kindly greet you;
Until that time, I must, alas,
Only in memory meet you.
Often I will sit and stare,
And think upon this moment rare;
The company beyond compare,
For now, farewell and thank you.

Here's to song, here's to time,
Here's to both with friends of mine,
Here's to friends who raise their voices high;
Kings have riches widely lain,
Lords have land, but then again,
We have friends and song no wealth can buy.

• So I'm deep thinking (a euphemism of sorts) and I must say I'll free flow thoughts later oozing out of radiohead.

What is so sacred about a car? People do all sorts of shit in the car, and they think it's private. This is not brought on externally but internally this particular rant. But seriously, a vast part of the car is made of glass. People can see in, but think about when you drive? Do you ever stare into other cars? Not very often right. Of all the cars you pass, you look into 2 or 3, and never do you want to get caught staring. That's just awkward, people get offended. But why? People view a car as a sanctuary I guess, some sort of inviolable territory. Sometimes you'll catch a glance and it's as if you were looking into their shower pane, not their windshield. I just think it's weird that people expect sacredness of their car.

Anyways, back to Kid A.

• Traits

So I was just thinking... Or actually I was playing a game of dota, and I got to thinking that there are certain ideals we strive towards but have not achieved by any means yet. Some want to be rock stars, others CEOs, etc. etc. But then there are personal goals, ones about who you are as a person, and those are the more frustrating goals, because the only thing stopping you from achieving those is yourself.

With this is mind I pose the following question: What is a trait that you wish to possess that you currently do not?

Mine is easy: grace in defeat. Two of my greatest heros are Zinedine Zidane and Robert E. Lee. One of the exemplifies the characteristic I'm going for (guess which?).
No matter what it is, I'm fairly competitive by nature. And one thing that really pisses me off is when I lose when it's not my fault. And actually losing in general does not bode well with me. Many things I choose not to compete in, academics for example. But I henceforth shall try harder to be graceful when I am defeated.
Thus it is proclaimed.

• Business Plan

So many of you know that I've been working on a business plan for Hoodoo. Hush hush, more will be revealed later.
Also many of you know my penchant for bartending and mixology, and while coming up with a drink list, I found a particularly poignant quote that succinctly express my sentiment:

Drinking just to get drunk is like having sex just to get pregnant.

He goes on:

"Yes, technically both are the biological intents, but if that's all you are focusing on, then you are missing out on the real enjoyment that can be had when you truly embrace the experience properly. Frankly, when you go out drinking, you should probably get 'drunk' about as often as you'd like to get pregnant."'

Ryan’s Famous Sex on the Beach $10

A University of Pennsylvania phenomenon, this drink is a perfect mix of Skyy Vodka, Peach Schnapps, and Orange, Cranberry and Pineapple Juices.

Libations, anyone?

About Me

Almost any type of music except country (and even that is sometimes tolerable). Since I'm not very good at creating or making music, I stick to listening to it.

I want to enjoy life to the fullest, and I like the thrill of new experience. I like new people, I'm in a state at the moment where new is good, old is good also, but new sparks interest within me.
